Take It Away Finance
Take it away is bringing music making to the masses.
We are excited to share the launch of a new brand identity for our partners, Take it away.
Take it away is a programme that believes in inspiring and empowering people to make music and achieves these goals by enabling players and performers of any age and ability to own their own instrument – or pay for tuition, equipment and software - with interest free finance.
With support from Arts Council England and delivered through a network of independent musical instrument shops across England and Northern Ireland; selling everything from classical orchestral instruments to digital keyboards, mixing decks and music production software, Take it away continues to bring music making to the masses.
Originally launched as a national initiative in 2007, the Take it away scheme has to date supported more than 96,000 customers to purchase more than £71.5m worth of musical instruments. Now, the refreshed brand identity is set to energise the scheme and help emphasise the relevance and value in making music and creativity accessible to all.
Whatever it is that you need to start making music, or take your music making to the next level, Take it away will help you own it. To find out more about this incredible initiative, head to the Take it away website.
Here at Music Bros. we’ve joined the ‘Take it away’ scheme to support music-makers like you.
‘Take it away’ provides interest-free loans for musical instruments, equipment, software and tuition. In short, it gives music-makers the backing they need.
So how does it work?
You apply for a loan in the shop (This will soon be available online also!).
This normally takes less than 10 minutes. And if you’re successful, you can take your instrument or other purchase home there and then.
How much can you borrow?
In England, you can get an interest-free loan of between £100 and £5,000
What loans can you get?
- All ‘Take it away’ loans are interest-free. In Northern Ireland, you pay a 10% deposit and spread the remaining balance over 9 monthly instalments.
- There’s a minimum loan amount of £100 and a maximum loan amount of £2,000
Are you eligible for finance?
- ‘Take it away’ has loans for musicians of all ages. The core scheme is open to people in England who are 18-25 years old, or over 18 and buying an instrument for a child under 18.
- In England, our focus is on making musical instruments more accessible for children and young people. You may be asked if you are buying for a child or a young person when you apply for a loan.
- You will need to be a permanent resident in the UK with a regular income of £5,000 per year.
- You’ll also need a bank or building society account that’s capable of handling direct debit payments. Remember, loans are subject to status. Terms and conditions apply.
How do you apply for a loan?
- Whether you apply in-store or online, you need to bring proof of ID and income.
